A firebolt streaking across the heavens.

I look down.

... that the glittering seas are full of her tears.
... that she would always be alone.
... that she would always whisper my name in vain,
search for my hand in the dark.

I would always be alone.
The universe awaits me.
She would always be lonely.
Infinity stretches before her.

Silver rings tether her.
I look back,
but don't linger.

I am a star. A comet.
And I blaze a trail where she cannot follow.

I have a terrible temper.
It consumes me. Whole.
And save for a pathetic few
Turns to ashes
Any and all relationships I've ever had
Personal or otherwise.

I hate this terrible need for control
Over this universe created by chaos.
Where the one thing I can wield and bend at will
Is my anger
My scorn
My disdain
My wrath
My sarcasm
My biting tongue.

But my fiery Arian soul
Rages out of my control.

And I cry.
And regret.
And look to go
Where my fury has not laid all to waste.

Just finished talking to my boss. My resignation was on the negotiating table. I'm such a softie. He's asked me to give him six more weeks. Or more. I wavered. On the six weeks. NO to the more.
